Chief Jim Witherington

The Cahaba Valley Fire & EMR District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of James D. Witherington as Fire Chief.  Chief Witherington started his fire service career in 1996 as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Department.  Chief Witherington earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Samford University in 2002.  The same year he also earned his EMT-Paramedic Certification from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Chief Witherington assumed his official duties on December 17.  Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Capt Witherington attended Evangelical Christian School.  He is married to the former Ginger Franklin of Jasper Alabama.
