Station 181 is the primary station responding to Businesses located along Highway 280 from Cahaba Park Circle to Eagle Point Parkway. In addition Station 181 is the primary response station for:

Units at Station 181 include:
Ladder-181 - 1998 E-One ladder truck with a 75 ft rear mounted ladder. This truck is first to respond to all structure fires within Cahaba Valley's district. Ladder-181 is also equipped with a 1500 gallons per minute pump and 1000 feet of 5 inch supply hose, 400 feet of 1 3/4 inch diameter attack hose and all advanced life support equipment for medical calls.
Engine-181 - 2004 Ferrara Engine with a 1250 gallons per minute pump. This engine responds to both fire and medical calls within the areas listed above. Engine-181 is equipped with 1200 feet of 5 inch diameter supply hose, 500 feet of 1 3/4 inch diameter attack hose and all advanced life support equipment for medical calls.
Car-188 - 2004 Ford F-250 truck. This truck serves as a command vehicle for the shift Captain on duty. C-188 is equipped with all advanced life support equipment for medical calls. In addition, Car-188 carries the department's Holmatro vehicle extrication tool (Jaws of Life), an air bag set for rescue, and a Bullard Thermal Imager. Car-188 also has on onboard computer system that links to Shelby County 911 and relays information regarding calls within the district. This assists with locating addresses and reduces response times. C-188 responds to all calls within Cahaba Valley's district.
Car-189 - 1996 Ford Explorer. This truck serves as a reserve command vehicle for the department. Equipment can be transferred from Car-188 to C-189 quickly as needed to ensure that the Shift commander can quickly reach any incident within the district.
Tower-181- 1975 Mack/Baker tower truck with a 75 feet mid mounted tower.
This truck is used as a reserve ladder company for the district. Tower-183
is equipped with the basic supplies for a ladder truck company so that it may
respond quickly to any incident where it is needed
