Comprehensive Fire Safety Inspections
Our Fire Prevention Division conducts thorough fire safety inspections to ensure the safety of all buildings and their occupants. Regular inspections help identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with local fire codes and standards.
Types of Inspections
Residential Inspections (By OWNER Request)
- Single-Family Homes: We inspect single-family homes at the owner’s request to ensure smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and other fire safety equipment are properly installed and maintained.
- Multi-Family Residences: Inspections for apartment complexes and other multi-family residences focus on common areas, exits, fire extinguisher placement, and fire alarms systems to ensure all residents’ safety.
Commercial Inspections
- Businesses: Regular inspections for offices, retail stores, and other commercial establishments to verify that fire safety equipment is up to code and accessible.
- Restaurants: Special attention is given to kitchens, cooking equipment, and exhaust systems to prevent grease fires and other hazards.
- Warehouses: Inspections ensure that storage practices do not create fire hazards and that fire suppression systems are properly maintained.
Industrial Inspections
- Manufacturing Plants: Focus on the safe storage of flammable materials, proper maintenance of fire suppression systems, and employee safety protocols.
- Chemical Facilities: Inspections to ensure safe handling and storage of hazardous materials and compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
Special Event Inspections
- Public Gatherings: We inspect venues for fairs, festivals, and other large public gatherings to ensure fire safety measures are in place.
- Temporary Structures: Tents, stages, and other temporary structures are inspected to ensure they meet fire safety standards.
Inspection Process
- Scheduling: All businesses will be visited by one of our inspectors at a minimum of once per year. Our inspectors perform inspections based on the last inspection date on record and typically visit businesses based on the order of the list. Inspections can be scheduled by contacting our office. We offer flexible appointment times to accommodate your needs.
- Initial Inspection: Our fire inspectors will conduct a thorough evaluation of your property, identifying any potential fire hazards and code violations.
- Report and Recommendations: After the inspection, you will receive a detailed report outlining any issues found and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Follow-Up Inspection: If necessary, a follow-up inspection will be scheduled to ensure that all recommended actions have been completed and the property is compliant with fire safety codes.
