MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 13th, 2021, BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING

-Mr. Sarver called the meeting to order at 6:07 P.M.
-The minutes from the September 8th, 2021, Board Meeting were presented. Mr. Reyes-Guerra made a motion to approve the minutes and Mr. Nolan seconded. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
-The agenda was presented. Mr. Reyes-Guerra made a motion to approve the minutes and Mr. Nolan seconded. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
REPORT OF THE FIRE CHIEF
-Chief Wilks presented the operations report (see attachment).

OLD BUSINESS
- Travel policy under revision- Updated version will be presented at next board meeting.
- American Express cards- Coordinate with Mr. Nolan to cancel account.
NEW BUSINESS
- Request to cancel the lease contract for the new fire station with Five Star Development for the sum of $68,377 to cover cost Five Star Development has expended on the project. Mr. Nolan made a motion to approve payment to Five Star Development and Mr. Reyes-Guerra seconded. The motion passed by unanimous vote. To be paid from funds FY2021 surplus and assigned to 52008 Professional Fees
- Travel approval
- November 1 – 4, 2021, Battalion Chief Gaither. Lt. C. Wilcox, and FF W. White to Alabama EMS Conference in Gulf Shores to present the new Rescue 181 transport unit. All expenses paid by Emergency Equipment Professionals
-January 10 – 14, 2022, Deputy Chief Yancey to Officer Development in Pensacola- Registration $550, Hotel $900
-January 2 – 15, 2022, Capt. R. Bradley to National Fire Academy- Air travel $254, Meal ticket $395, Rental car $500.
-December 12 – 17, 2021, Batt. Chief Gaither to National Fire Academy, Meal ticket
$ 395, Air travel $ 254
-TBD Spring 2022, 6 people to Appleton, Wisconsin to Pierce Plant for prebuild of new fire engine. Costs covered in purchase of apparatus.
- Mr. Nolan made a motion to approve all above travel and Mr. Reyes-Guerra seconded. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
-Fire dues Hardship Request- board reviewed the supplied information and decided to work with property owner to pay monthly payments unless more information is provided.
- Mr. Nolan made a motion to adjourn, Mr. Reyes-Guerra seconded., and the meeting was adjourned at 6:44 P.M.
